OCEANPORT, NJ— Want to learn about one of the fastest growing sports around? Head over to Wolf Hill Recreation Area, Oceanport, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 for the grand opening of the Monmouth County Park System’s 18-hole disc golf course. Enjoy clinics, demonstrations, and a round of disc golf. During this event, maps, scorecards and loaner discs will be available. Just sign in at the first tee (located near the park’s Eatontown Boulevard entrance) before heading out on the course.
Growing in leaps and bounds in popularity, disc golf is fun and inexpensive to play. Even better, it’s great exercise and can be enjoyed at practically any age. It’s played like traditional golf except that players throw a disc into an elevated basket instead of hitting a ball into a hole. The objective is to complete the course with the fewest number of throws.
Players of all levels are sure to enjoy the disc golf course at Wolf Hill Recreation Area. Open daily, free of charge, during regular park hours, the course is designed to be fun for beginners yet challenging enough for experienced disc golfers. Weather permitting, the course is open year round.
