MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Middletown Police have charged Toni Ann Marletta, age 49, from Thompson Avenue in Leonardo, NJ, in the fatal pedestrian hit and run motor vehicle crash that occurred on July 7, 2015 at approximately 8:25pm at the intersection of Highway 36 and Avenue D in the Leonardo section of Middletown.
Marletta was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, Failing to Report a Motor Vehicle Accident, No Insurance, Unsafe Tires and Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident. She was being held on $150,000.00 bail with no 10% option set by Judge Honora O’Brien-Kilgallen of the Monmouth County Superior Court.
The investigation was conducted by Cpl. Thomas Russo, Lt. Neal Hansen, Sgt. Cliff O’Hara and Cpl. Nicholas Caprio of the Middletown Police Traffic and Safety Bureau in conjunction with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident is a second degree crime punishable by a period of imprisonment up to 10 years if convicted.
