Will Present 82-Year Old Veteran with Medals He Earned During Korean War
EDISON, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) visited the home of Robert A. Corbisiero, a Korean War veteran who lives in Edison, NJ, to present him with distinguished medals for his achievements and service to his country during the Korean War. Mr. Corbisiero, who is now 82 years, has never been recognized with these medals before.
“This is a long overdue recognition of Robert’s sacrifices and bravery while fighting for his country over half a century ago,” said Congressman Pallone. “I am honored to be here today to present him with these medals that he has earned and feel privileged to be able to recognize Robert’s exceptional service.”
Congressman Pallone’s office secured for Mr. Corbisiero the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, a Republic of Korea-Korean War Service Medal, along with a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Republic of Korea. Congressman Pallone’s office was also able to correct Mr. Corbisiero’s official records to accurately reflect all the medals that he was entitled to receive following his service.
Robert Corbisiero was born on July 15, 1932 in Clark Township, New Jersey. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 4, 1952 at the age of 19. He served during the Korean War until he was officially discharged from active duty in 1954. He and his wife Rose are constituents of Congressman Pallone’s, residing in Edison, NJ.
