WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez released the following statement in response to the Democratic National Committee announcing today that he has chosen Philadelphia to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention:

“I am thrilled that the DNC has picked Philadelphia to host the 2016 convention.  It will bring a welcomed economic boost to the entire region and shine a spotlight on everything southern New Jersey has to offer.  I hope that the tens of thousands who come to the area will take advantage of the opportunity to visit New Jersey and tour the Battleship New Jersey in Camden, dine in Collingswood, hit the beach in Wildwood, and play in Atlantic City.  It’s a win-win, especially for areas of our state that have been hit particularly hard economically.  I look forward to welcoming my fellow Democrats to New Jersey.”
