Registration opens for the 24th Annual Bike MS: Coast the Coast ride
West Long Branch, NJ – Registration has opened for the National Multiple Sclerosis New Jersey Metro Chapter’s Bike MS: Coast the Coast 2015 ride taking place on May 16– 17, 2015. This two-day cycling event will kick off at Monmouth University in West Long Branch and take cyclists on a two-day journey along the Jersey Shore.
Bike MS: Coast the Coast is perfect for dedicated cycling enthusiasts and beginners alike. Cyclists can commit to riding 25, 50, 85 or 170 miles – all for a world free of multiple sclerosis. As Director of Bike MS Mary Beth Rehrer says, “Bike MS: Coast the Coast is a fun-filled, exciting event for everyone. With route lengths ranging from 25 miles to a two-day 170-mile challenge, combined with the terrific support we provide, anyone can join in and have a great experience!”
Cyclists choosing to ride 25 or 50 miles will start and finish at Monmouth University on Saturday, May 16. Cyclists looking for a challenge can choose to ride 85 miles down the coast, ending their day at Pinelands Regional High School in Tuckerton. Rehrer also adds, “Our routes go through the prettiest seaside towns, afford ocean views and travel through the Pine Barrens. Each cyclist will see something that they’ve never seen before along the Jersey Shore!”
And, on Sunday, May 17, cyclists continue their two-day journey, riding 85 additional miles to finish at the Cape May Coast Guard Station.
Last year, more than 1,500 cyclists and volunteers came together at Bike MS: Coast the Coast to raise thousands of dollars for cutting-edge research and local programs and services for those living with MS within northern and central New Jersey.
Bike MS is the nation’s number one premier cycling series. All rides are fully supported, featuring catered rest stops every 10 – 12 miles, bike mechanics, full meals and support vehicles. Bike MS: Coast the Coast is the first ride in the chapter’s three-part Bike MS series.
