MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown Lions Club serves Middletown residents and other area communities. Chartered in 1946 under Lions Clubs International, they support local, national and global initiatives.
Over the past five years, the Middletown Lions Club has conducted vision screenings for over 4,200 Middletown Township Public School students. For those who need further eye care, the Middletown Lions Club has provided financial assistance for medical follow-up and the purchase of prescription eyeglasses.
Most recently, the Middletown Lions Club has embraced the technological advances in vision screening with the acquisition of a new camera, which has enhanced the accuracy of the vision screenings that they perform. The Middletown Township School District extends its thanks for the valuable eye screening service the Middletown Lions Club provides for students.
The following Middletown Lions Club members will be recognized by the Middletown Township Board of Education for their efforts to provide vision screening to District students: Rich LaBarbara, Larry Caminiti, Toni Hernandez, Tom Davis, Craig Finnegan, Lori Anne Oliwa, Bob Guijaro, Beverly Scarano, Tom Mahon, John Giordano.
The recognition ceremony will be held during the Board’s regular voting meeting on December 17, which will be held in the Middletown High School North Library at 8 p.m.
