PHOENIX, AZ - The family of Arizona gun instructor, Charlie Vacca, who was accidentally killed by a 9-year-old New Jersey girl using an Uzi submachine gun has delivered a video message to the girl, saying they hope to meet her someday and they are praying for her and “wish you peace.”
The video was published by the Phoenix law firm, Lamber Goodnow, on their website. In the video, the family's attorney, Marc Lamber said, "We intend to work cooperatively with authorities and investigative agencies to determine how this could have happened and more importantly, how it could have been prevented."
Vacca's son, Christopher, begins reading the letter saying, "We don't know you but we are connected by this tragedy. In the news we are just called 'the family,' 'the 9-year-old girl', 'the instructor', but we do have names: Ashley, Elizabeth, Tyler and Christopher. We are Charlie Vacca's kids. We wanted you to know something about him." The children described their father as "funny", a "hero", a "friend." They said, "You're only 9 years old. We think about you. We are worried about you. We pray for you. And we wish you peace. Our dad would want the same thing."
