MIDDLETOWN— The Monmouth County Park System is looking for volunteers to become docents at its two Environmental Centers. Are you 21 years of age or older and enjoy interacting with people? You may have what it takes to step into this exciting volunteer position. Volunteer docents welcome visitors and answer questions about on-site ecology and exhibits at the facilities.

The Park System will hold orientation sessions at both locations for prospective volunteers to learn more. The orientation session for those looking to volunteer at the Huber Woods Environmental Center in Middletown will be held at the site from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.  A session for those interested in volunteering at the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell will be held at the site from 10 a.m.-12 p.m on Sunday, October 5.  Once trained, docents will be asked to volunteer on weekends in half-day shifts and provide a minimum two shift commitment per month.
