TINTON FALLS, NJ — This summer the Park System took the steps necessary to revitalize the swimming pool at the FortMonmouthRecreationCenter to make it available for use for a wide variety of programs and summer camps offered each year. Acquired last year from the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA), the RecreationCenter included amenities such as classrooms, a gymnasium, a game room and an outdoor swimming pool, making it a perfect location for an array of activities.
In mid July, necessary improvements were made and the pool opened for use by some of the RecreationCenter’s summer campers. The pool will be open for the public to enjoy an Open Swim on Saturday, August 16 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost is $15 per family of four and $5 each additional person; cash or check only please. No rafts will be permitted.
Freeholder Director and Park System Liaison Lillian Burry was excited to see the pool getting some good use by our visitors. “We are ecstatic that we have obtained the facility from FMERA for the residents of MonmouthCounty. What a wonderful opportunity to be able to offer programs and the use of the pool to the community.”
