Old Bridge, NJ – Everyone thinks about hunger during the holiday season, but few people realize that the most difficult time for struggling families is during the summer months when children who normally receive subsidized lunches are home from schools. In New Jersey, 1.1 million people live on incomes that put them at risk for hunger, 33 percent of whom are children.

To address this immediate need, Move for Hunger is excited to announce that Crave Frozen Yogurt and Sea Cure Moving & Storage are teaming up for a fundraiser night to combat these startling statistics.

On August 2 from 6pm to 9pm, 15 percent of all proceeds will be donated to Move For Hunger at Crave Frozen Yogurt in The Shoppes at Old Bridge located at 3889 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ. In addition, food donations will be collected.

Sea Cure Moving and Storage will be donating their time and resources in order to transport all donations to The Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. While all donations are greatly appreciated, suggested items include pasta, rice, peanut butter, cookies, crackers, canned meats, and canned vegetables and fruits.

“In the summertime, the issue of hunger is often swept under the rug even though it’s as widespread, if not more, than during the school years,” states Adam Lowy, executive director at Move For Hunger. “A fundraising night and food drive are an excellent way to get people to donate food and provide lifesaving meals for those in need.”
