RUMSON, NJ – On Wednesday, June 18, the Twin Lights District of Monmouth Council Boy Scouts of America will present two Monmouth County Residents with the 2014 Eastern Monmouth Good Scout Award during a special reception at the Salt Creek Grille in Rumson from 6:30-8:00 p.m. 

The “Scouting“ Good Scout recipient is Donald R. Antenucci, Sr., the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 140 Middletown, N.J.

The “Community” Good Scout recipient is Lynda Rose the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.


The “Good Scout” Award is presented annually to those who exemplify the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America in their daily lives as outlined by the Boy Scout Oath and Law.  Recipients are chosen for outstanding contributions to Scouting and/or service and leadership to their community.

Lynda Rose, originally from Rumson but now residing in Atlantic Highlands, has been a driving force in the local community for nearly 30 years.  She has been an advocate for local businesses since first joining the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce in 1987.  She has a passion for “giving back” to the local community and has volunteered for numerous organizations including the Red Bank Rotary, Kick Cancer Overboard, Aslan Youth Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Clean Ocean Action and the Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts. Currently she serves on the Fort Hancock 21st Century Advisory Committee to preserve and restore historic Fort Hancock at Sandy Hook.

Donald Antenucci, Sr., a resident of Middletown, has been actively involved in Scouting for nearly four decades and has served as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 140 in Middletown for the past 25 years.  His outstanding leadership and dedication has helped to positively influence and shape the lives of hundreds of young people through the Scouting program. He serves on Monmouth Council’s Training Committee, Campmaster and Campbuilders staffs, and is a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow. He is deeply connected to his local community and volunteers with the Vince Lombardi Council of the Knights of Columbus, Fairview Neighborhood Watch, and Middletown  Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse.

Governor, State of N.J., and Brian Valentino, Patriot Consulting Group.
