on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park
Livingston, N.J. – Together, the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey and the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation will hold the First Annual 5 Alarm 5K Run/Walk on the evening of June 5, along the board walk in Asbury Park, NJ. The event will benefit The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, which ranks within the top 10 burn centers in the nation, and is the only certified burn treatment facility for the State of New Jersey.
Each year, The Burn Center cares for more than 400 inpatients, 40% of who are sadly children under the age of five, and provides treatment and services to an additional 5,000 outpatient visits. Proceeds from the 5 Alarm 5K Run/Walk will provide ongoing support to patients and families cared for in The Burn Center and aid in the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation’s mission which is prevention through education…because the best way to treat a burn is to prevent it from ever happening.
The USA Track and Field-certified 3.1 mile course starts on the road adjacent to Bradley Park and ends with a spectacular finish on the boardwalk near Asbury Park’s famed Convention Hall.
Registration begins at 6:00 pm at Fifth and Boardwalk in front of Wonder Bar and the 5K starts at 6:30 pm. T-shirts will be given to the first 500 pre-registrants and while supplies last on event day. All those who pre-register will automatically be eligible to win an iPad.
