Bidgood started the event 11 years ago to celebrate the popular, award-winning restaurant’s 5th anniversary and to support local charities. To date over $620,000 has been raised for 10 local charities that serve children’s needs. 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the charity thanks to the generous support and donations of goods and services made by purveyors and Salt Creek Grille. Six wine vendors, which have supported the event for the past ten years, pour premiere wines and a spirits vendor shakes specialty martinis for the popular event. Salt Creek Grille provides passed hors d’oeuvres, pasta and carving stations. Local business favorites also get in on the act and have included artisanal cheeses from Sickles Market and a raw bar by Lusty Lobster. The Bobby Boyd Trio entertains the event with live jazz music.
"It means so much to us to be chosen by Steve Bidgood to be Salt Creek's charity for 2014," said Eric Hinds, president and co-founder of HFCF. "We have worked very hard over the past 10 years to become recognized within the community as an organization that is proven to be a viable resource for children in need," he explained.
"We are so honored that Steve has been impressed with what we have accomplished over the years as he is a true role model for philanthropy. His commitment to the community with such a quality restaurant is unmatched," added his wife and treasurer Karen.
"We firmly believe that the best way to invest in our future is to invest in our children," said Bidgood about the fundraiser. "We thank our community for helping us make this event one of our most successful events in our area," said Bidgood. "This is Monmouth County’s most popular fundraiser so get your tickets today!"
