New Jersey - Jeffrey Corzine, 31-year-old son of former Governor Jon Corzine, has died.  A family spokesperson who did not disclose the circumstances of the death, said the former governor “is obviously devastated by this tragic loss.”

The family seeks privacy “during this very difficult time,” Steven Goldberg said.

Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean Jr. stated the following about Thursday’s passing of Jeffrey Corzine.

“The Senate Republican caucus and I send our sincerest condolences to Governor Corzine, his family and friends. May Jeffery rest in peace and may the Corzines receive an abundance of thoughts, prayers, love and support to help them through this unimaginably difficult time.”

 

U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today issued the following statement on the passing of Jeffrey Corzine, the son of former New Jersey Governor and U.S. Senator Jon Corzine:

“It is with deep sadness that I express my heartfelt condolences to Governor Corzine, Joanne and the entire Corzine family on the sudden and tragic loss of Jeffrey.  The pain and sorrow one suffers losing a child is unthinkable.  I have always known them to be devoted and doting parents.  My thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time."
