Marks one year of passports and more

NEPTUNE, NJ- The Monmouth County Connection will celebrate its one year anniversary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 and all passport applicants will be given free passport photos. Refreshments will be served and customers will receive a complementary gift.

When opening the Monmouth County Connection one year ago, the goal of County Clerk M. Claire French was to bring government services to a convenient location with operating hours that would accommodate the busy schedules of Monmouth County residents.

After processing more than 5,000 passports, distributing 600 veterans’ ID cards, and swearing in more than 300 notary publics, it’s apparent that the convenience of the County Connection has paid off.

“Our first year of success has shown us that the public is always better served when you can take services to them locally,” said French. “The services offered in the Neptune office include processing passport applications, passport photos, free notary public services, veterans’ IDs and voter information. The County Connection also hosts free informational seminars.”

Staff from the offices of the County Surrogate and Veterans Services meet with clients on a biweekly basis in the Neptune location. The County Connection serves as a meeting place for many other County offices, too.

“We are proud of the services we offer at the County Connection and would like as many people as possible to come out and take advantage of the satellite office,” said French. “A monthly calendar of events is posted on the County website at”
