On Women’s Equality Day, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey Joins Working Families United for New Jersey, Inc. to “Raise the Wage”
Trenton, NJ — As the nation observes Women’s Equality Day, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey joins Working Families United for New Jersey, Inc. at a press event to highlight the importance of raising New Jersey’s minimum wage, and how doing so will benefit women and families.
“Planned Parenthood is one of the nation’s leading women’s health care advocates and providers, and a trusted source of primary and preventive care for thousands of women, men and teens throughout New Jersey,” said Jennifer R. Miller, spokesperson for the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey. “We know that women’s health and economic well-being go hand-in-hand. Raising the minimum wage is a major step towards eliminating health disparities and increasing economic opportunities.”
“This past year, we have been witnessing the most aggressive attacks on women’s health and rights in a generation,” Miller said. “Instead of focusing on jobs and the economy, anti-women’s health leaders in Congress and the states have been spending their time introducing bills restricting women’s access to health care. That’s why it’s so important that we stand together to support working women and their families.”
