Join us at the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center as Melissa Genovese presents her experiences as a Fulbright Scholar in Vietnam. Motorbikes, development, laughing and peace; Vietnam has come a long way since the fall of Saigon in 1975. From August 2011 through July 2012, Genovese lived and worked in Nam Dihn, Vietnam, teaching English at Nam Dinh University of Technology Education. During this time, she was able to experience and learn about present day Vietnam and its fast paced movement towards modernization. Her presentation offers perspectives on modern Vietnam.

Genovese grew up in Howell, New Jersey. She received her bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Rowan University in 2010. Genovese was a recipient of the pretigious Fulbright Award in 2011. Since returning home, she has made a mission of sharing her experiences in hopes of creating a better understanding of and future for the two countries.
