BPU public hearings on JCP&L’s $600 million rate increase request April 24th in Freehold
FREEHOLD, NJ - Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) is proposing to raise its electricity prices and collect $600 million more from ratepayers. If approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU), overall revenues would increase by 5.1%. Right now, the BPU is conducting public hearings offering people the chance to speak their mind when it comes to this proposal.
AARP is asking concerned area residents to attend these public hearings and tell the Board of Public Utilities to stand up for consumers by keeping rates affordable and improving the quality of the electricity services.
The next BPU public hearings will take place on April 24th in Freehold.
