First annual Jersey Shore Meatball Gala crowns winners
WALL, NJ - Two hundred meatball experts attended The First Annual Jersey Shore Meatball Gala last night at the South Wall Banquet Facilities, and Agostino Italian Specialties of Manasquan was awarded the Best in Show: Meanest Meatball on the Jersey Shore.
“The Jersey Shore community came out in force to support this event, and we could not be happier with the outcome,” says Meatball Gala Chairman Jo Schloeder of Wall. She explains the event featured cuisine from a dozen shore area restaurants with proceeds going to Wall High School Project Graduation.
“The variety of meatballs was tremendous with meatballs like traditional Italian, spicy Asian, smoky barbeque, enchilada, crab and scallop, eggplant and more. The chefs really though out of the box for this event, and we are truly grateful for all of the support,” she says.
The People’s Choice Award was taken home by Pastaio Restaurant of Spring Lake for their traditional Italian meatball in pomodoro sauce.
