LINCROFT-- Dress up the dog, plan your scarecrow and come ready to have fun at Thompson Park Day! Held Sunday, October 14 from 11am to 5pm at Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, this quintessential fall festival features contests, crafts, entertainment and so much more. Free activities include a corn maze, canoeing (12noon-4pm, weather permitting), pottery demonstrations, pond exploration, disc golf and kids’ races. Activities requiring tickets (2-3 tickets per activity, each ticket is $1) are pumpkin painting, ceramic painting, a climbing wall, wagon rides, mini golf, inflatable rides, a teacup ride, a video game trailer and archery. A scarecrow contest will be held from 11am to 4pm. Entries are $10 in advance or $15 the day of event. The Friends of the Parks will be holding their annual “Strut Your Mutt” doggie costume contest as well.
