LINCROFT, NJ  — From Open Shoot Archery to The Well-Dressed Woman, Fashions from 1862, the Monmouth County Park System has planned a November to remember with fun, family-friendly, drop-in programs.  Here’s what’s planned:

Woods Hollow Classic Mountain Bike Race

                Saturday, November 3

                Tatum Park, Holland Road, Middletown

Try this exciting race for kids (1 mile), beginners (7.8 miles) or more experienced riders (11.4 miles) on open fields and woodlands. Race day registration is $15 per rider for Kids Race and $25 per rider for Beginner and Sport races.

 

Roving Park System Naturalist

                Saturday, November 3 at 10am

Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft  - (meet in Marlu Lake parking lot)

Sunday, November 18 at 9am
Tatum Park, Holland Road, Middletown  - (meet in Holland Road parking lot)

Join our roving Park System Naturalist for a walk and learn about seasonal points of interest.

Open Shoot Archery

Saturday, November 3 from 12noon-3pm
Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft
Try your hand at archery during this open shoot. All equipment will be provided. This is a non-instructional program open to ages 8 and up (under 18 with adult). The cost is $5 per person. Cash or check only.

Knitting Demonstration

                Saturday, November 3 from 1-3pm

                Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel

                See skilled crafters demonstrate the art of knitting.

Thanksgiving is Coming!

                Saturday & Sunday, November 3 & 4 at 2:30pm

                Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Georgia Tavern Road, Howell

Make a centerpiece for your table that you can later give to the birds.

 

Open Ceramics

Sunday, November 4 from 12:30-4:30pm

Thompson Park Creative Arts Center, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft

Choose from a large selection of bisque-fired pottery pieces to glaze and make your own. Leave your piece to be fired and pick up in a week. The cost is $6 per person per hour plus cost of bisqueware. All ages welcome, children 12 and under with an adult.

Meet our newest wood turtle and learn about this reptile.

Music Man Rich Marzec

Hear history come alive through music as Rich Marzec plays tunes from the turn-of-the-century.

Blacksmith Demonstration
