Annual Public Presentations Day held at Rutgers

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Ten teenagers represented the Monmouth County 4-H Association and received state recognition for their accomplishments in the 2012 State 4-H Public Presentations Program at Rutgers University’s Douglas Campus on June 9.

The Rutgers 4-H Youth Development Program hosted more than 100 4-H’ers from 19 counties participated who gave oral presentations on many subjects.

The Monmouth County 4-H’ers rated Excellent were Samantha Eisenberg, Kathryn Gray, Morgan Martin, Mary Grace Rapolla, McKayla Tyrrell and Rebecca Shannon. Angela Bekampis, Gautam Boggavarapu, Daisy Brown and Erika Lau received Very Good ratings.

To qualify for the state 4-H event, each of the teens received an excellent rating at their County 4-H Public Presentation Contest earlier this spring.

The state event offers qualified 4-H’ers an advanced public speaking experience and encourages them to utilize their organizational and speaking skills to assist younger 4-H’ers in the county to further their development of public speaking skills.

Judging was done by educators, 4-H Club volunteers, faculty and staff.
