FREEHOLD, NJ -  Calling all artists!  The Monmouth County Fair committee has announced “Under the Stars” as the theme for its Amateur Art Competition. Open to original artwork in photography, pen and ink, pastels, watercolor, oil or acrylic, this competition challenges amateur artists to capture a nighttime image of the county.

Entries in the amateur art competition can be brought to East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township, on Sunday, July 22 from 10am to 3pm or on Monday, July 23 from 9am to 12noon.  All artwork must be framed and ready to hang.

The Monmouth County Fair will be held at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township, Wednesday-Sunday, July 25-29.  Hours are 5 to 11pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 11am to 11pm on Saturday; and 11am to 6pm on Sunday. Admission is $7.00 per person. Children 12 and under are free. 

The Monmouth County Fair is organized and presented by the Monmouth County Park System in cooperation with the Monmouth County 4-H Association. The Monmouth County Park System, created in 1960 by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, is Monmouth County’s Open Space, Parks and Recreation agency.
