The year 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting and to commemorate this historic occasion, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore held a 100th Anniversary Gala sponsored by Investors Bank on Friday, March 30th at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale, NJ. During the black tie affair, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore honored the personal and professional achievements of Pat Battle, anchor and New Jersey correspondent, NBC News; Katherine Durante, executive director, OceanFirst Foundation; Joan Hart, sales representative, The Van Dyk Group; Vita Kolber, civic volunteer; and Wendy Williams, host of the Wendy Williams Show.

During the gala, each honoree expressed their gratitude for the recognition and shared life lessons that helped guide their paths to success. The chosen honorees, all from Monmouth and Ocean counties, are women of remarkable accomplishment whose contributions have bettered our community. They embody essential Girl Scout leadership qualities making them valuable role models for girls in our area.
The 100th Anniversary Gala combined the previous annual Women of Achievement and Women of Distinction award ceremonies into one special event. The five 100th Anniversary Gala honorees join the other 130 Women of Achievement and Women of Distinction recipients who have been recognized by the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore for the past 23 years.
