SHREWSBURY, NJ - Did you ever want to scale a beanstalk, meet Cinderella’s fairy godmother or gaze into a magic mirror? Enjoy an afternoon of magical fun on Saturday, March 31 at Fairy Tale Frolic, the Monmouth County Library’s 2012 Children’s Book Fair.

The fair will be held at a new location this year: from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Eastern Branch Library, 1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury.  The fair is free and family friendly! No registration required.

Children of all ages are invited to enter the pages of our Fairy Tale Adventure and enjoy an afternoon of imaginative play, including the Billy Goats Gruff trot, Cinderella’s pumpkin patch toss, Snow White’s mirror match, and Hansel and Gretel’s readathon.

Kit’s Interactive Theatre will present “Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother” starring Kitty Jones. The shows will run from 2 – 2:30 p.m. AND 3 – 3:30 p.m. in the Children’s Room.

Meet the Tale Spinners! Local authors Gayle Aanensen, Audrey and Ron Richardson and Carmen Rubin, along with illustrator David Udovic will be on hand to share stories. Books will be available for purchase and autographing.

The afternoon’s festivities will end upstairs at the Happy Endings Café, where children may claim their crown and make themselves a sweet treat.
