“Everyone needs help at some point in their lives,” explains 16-year-old Montana Pflaster of Monmouth Beach, “My girlfriends and I started Rockin’ Angels because we are blessed and wanted to share some of our good fortune with children and teens in our community.”

Montana and the other ‘Angels’, 16-year-old Christina Kalinowski of Monmouth Beach and 15-year-old Madison Pflaster of Ocean Township, decided to organize a clothing drive at Ranney School in Tinton Falls; the school that all three attend. The girls designed flyers, set up collection boxes, spoke to student and parent groups about their effort and even reached out to family, friends and neighbors. They wanted to be sure however, that the clothing they collected was resold and not shredded or shipped overseas, so they reached out to FCS.

The Children’s Boutique will feature a variety of items for children and young adults, including girl’s dresses, boys and young men’s suits, blazers and ties, uniform attire, play clothes, outerwear, shoes and some accessories. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to fund FCS’s dozen programs and services, including child literacy, homelessness prevention and home care.
The Thrift Boutique, which regularly stocks men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares, linens and small furniture items, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Donations of new and gently used items can be brought to the store during regular business hours.
