The Ashley Lauren Foundation does not fund research but rather are “in the trenches” with these families as they cope with the daily battle of pediatric cancer.”
Honoree Jim Spinella stated, “We purchased Yellow Brook Farm in Colts Neck two years ago and were introduced to the Ashley Lauren Foundation through Helen Goddard, who has sponsored many events for the children at the Farm. Very close members of our family have been touched by cancer and Linda and I were very happy to be involved in supporting the families of children who have been affected by this terrible disease. We look forward to continuing to support events at the Farm and have the families share memorable time with our horses.
After having received a call from Monica Vermeulen, Founder/Executive Director of The Ashley Lauren Foundation, regarding the last wishes of one of the children that she was racing against time to make happen, we could not help but commit ourselves to ensuring his last wish was fulfilled. It was simply for a new Batman video game, not yet released or even finished in development. Happily with the cooperation of Warner Bros., he became the first child to play this game with the developer of the game. This was one of our most rewarding experiences and one we are thankful we had the opportunity to participate in. Sadly, we lost him too soon after.
Linda and I are inspired by Monica and her love and dedication to the children of The Ashley Lauren Foundation and we look forward to becoming more involved. Several members of our family, my sons and nieces, Amanda, Josie and Jackie have asked to participate as volunteers.”
