TINTON FALLS – December 13, 2011 – The 45th Anniversary Winter Glow Ball, a benefit for The Arc of Monmouth, was held on Friday, December 2 at the Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands. Over $240,000 was raised for services and supports for individuals with Autism, Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The annual black tie affair honored Eric Hinds of Holmdel, co-founder of Hope For Children Foundation New Jersey, which has raised over one million dollars for local non-profits including The Arc of Monmouth. This past January, he was sworn into the Holmdel Township Committee.
One of the evening’s highlights was performance artist Tim Decker, who painted two of his famous “speed portraits” – large scale paintings completed in less than 5 minutes each. His portraits of Salvador Dali and The Statue of Liberty sold for over $3,500 at the event’s live auction. This year’s highest earning auction item was a private jet trip and foursome at Robert Trent Jones golf course in Virginia, courtesy of Metropolitan Aviation.
Ball Chairman Anita Roselle commented, “despite the persistently shaky economy, we feel blessed to witness the outpouring of support from sponsors and attendees. We were particularly thrilled to have Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno and Senator Joe Kyrillos in attendance”.
