TRENTON, NJ - Assembly Republican Whip Dave Rible has been appointed to the Board of State Canvassers by Governor Chris Christie.
The Board of State Canvassers was established by the Legislature in the Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Elections and convenes in order to certify election results after state and federal elections.
“I am honored to be appointed by the Governor to such an important board,” said Rible. “It is critical to ensure that all election results are accurate and the members of the Board of State Canvassers are responsible for certifying that the results are correct.”
The Board of State Canvassers is made up of five members, including the Governor who serves as chairman. The Governor appoints the remaining four members from the Legislature. No more than two members appointed by the Governor may be from the same political party.
“I look forward to working with the Governor and my fellow board members during the upcoming elections,” said Rible. “I am also humbled to be one of the two Assembly representatives and will give all due diligence to this position.”
The current Board of State Canvassers includes Governor Chris Christie, Assembly Republican Whip Dave Rible, Assemblyman Ruben Ramos, Jr., Senator Donald Norcross, and Senator Christopher “Kip” Bateman.
