WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ, (October 18, 2010) Monmouth University’s Student Government Association (SGA) will host the 12th annual Big Event community service program on Saturday, October 22, 2011 (rain or shine). The Big Event is one of the ways that SGA “gives back” to our neighbors in the surrounding communities. Over the course of the last 11 years, the Big Event has visited over 300 worksites and had approximately 3000 volunteers helping community members and organizations with a variety of tasks. This year, SGA is once again on target to welcome approximately 300 Monmouth students, staff and faculty who will spend the day performing service projects, such as painting, cleaning, clearing brush, or visiting senior citizen centers, and working with school children.
