LINCROFT-- From 11am to 5pm on Sunday, October 16, the Monmouth County Park System will host its annual Thompson Park Day celebration at Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. Free activities include entertainment, the corn maze, archery, canoeing (12noon-4pm, weather permitting), worm races, pottery demonstrations, golf evaluations and kids’ races. Activities requiring a ticket (each ticket costs $2) are pumpkin painting, ceramic painting, the climbing wall, wagon rides, inflatable rides, video game trailer and a 4-D movie experience. A scarecrow contest will be held from 11am to 4pm. Entries are $15 in advance or $20 the day of event. The Friends of the Parks will be holding a “Strut Your Mutt” doggie costume contest as well. These youngsters are having a blast during the Scarecrow Building Contest. The contest will once again be part of this year’s Thompson Park Day held on Sunday, October 16 from 11am-5pm at Thompson Park, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft.
