SHREWSBURY, NJ - Monmouth Country Historical Association will host its second annual Oktoberfest Celebration on Friday, October 21st, from 7-10 pm. Held at the 300-year old Allen House, which is located at the intersection of Broad and Sycamore Streets at Shrewsbury’s historic four corners, this fun-filled event is for beer drinkers and historians alike!  The Allen House was the town’s most noted tavern in its day.  Attendees will enjoy an all-you-can-eat-&-drink evening of local beer, wine, and barbeque while experiencing a private tour of one of the oldest remaining structures in Monmouth County.

A selection of ales from several colonial locales will be offered, including from the newly established Carton Brewing Company in Atlantic Highlands and the Trapp Lodge Brewery in Stowe, Vermont.  Local wines will be featured as well, including those from Four JG's Orchards & Vineyards, located on a property established in the 1700s in Colts Neck.

Once again, a bountiful feast will be provided by award winning Local Smoke BBQ. Local Smoke has garnered three 1st place awards from the 2011 NJ State BBQ Championship including “Grand Champion Overall!”  Scrumptious desserts have been donated to this event by a variety of local bakeries including Cups and Cakes.  Guests will also enjoy entertainment and chance games, including a 50/50 raffle.  Proceeds from this event benefit the work of the MCHA.
