SANDY HOOK, NJ - Celebrate the 95thbirthday of the National Park Service by visiting Gateway National Recreation Area. Parking fees will be waived Thursday, August 25.  

Every year, the National Park Service celebrates NPS Founders Day with a fee-free day on August 25, the day President Woodrow Wilson signed the Act of Congress that created the agency.


Free parking will be available at Sandy Hook Unit, Highlands, N.J., and Jacob Riis Park, Queens, N.Y. All other areas of Gateway National Recreation Area are always free.
