Companies must register to participate; jobseekers do not need to register
FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County will again offer employers and jobseekers the opportunity to connect at the Monmouth County Job Fair scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22. The event is free for employers to reserve a table and for jobseekers to attend.
The 2011 Monmouth County Job Fair will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookdale Community College, Recreation and Events Center, 765 Newman Springs Rd., Lincroft.
Last year’s job fair attracted more than 100 employers and an estimated 1,100 jobseekers. This year, employers in categories such as healthcare, government, retail, security, technology, manufacturing and sales are expected to attend.
“Only employers who have immediate job openings will be invited to participate in the 2011 Monmouth County Job Fair,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison for the Monmouth County Division of Employment and Training. “This will improve the chances that jobseekers will find employment.”
To better prepare jobseekers, a special “Job Fair Workshop Series” will be held prior to the Job Fair. Workshops will be open to the public and held on three consecutive Wednesdays, Aug. 31 through Sept. 14, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Monmouth County Division of Employment and Training at 145 Wyckoff Rd., Eatontown. In addition, career seminars will be held on site during the Job Fair.
The 2011 Monmouth County Job Fair is a partnership between the Monmouth County Division of Employment and Training, the Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board (WIB), the 12th Legislative District office of Sen. Jennifer Beck, Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande and Assemblyman Declan J. O’Scanlon Jr., the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council (MODC), the Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources and Brookdale Community College.
The 2011 Monmouth County Job Fair is wheelchair accessible and people with disabilities are encouraged to attend. All attendees are reminded to dress appropriately for a job interview and to bring plenty of resumes.
