SHREWSBURY, NJ - The Eastern Branch Library’s popular First Fridays for Seniors will have two sessions in August.

On Friday, August 5, First Fridays will feature “Planning for the Holidays.” Find out how to plan ahead and budget for holiday expenses. Learn holiday saving tips and alternative gift ideas that might help reduce holiday stress.

This program will be presented by Maura Attardi, regional director of education and community relations of CCS/Money Management International, a non-profit full-service credit counseling organization.

On Friday, August 19, a special edition of First Fridays will present “Property Tax Programs for Seniors.” Learn about the current status of the Homestead Homeowners Benefit and the Property Tax Reimbursement programs, including eligibility, benefits, and the application process.

Contact information for further assistance with these programs will also be provided. This program is presented by the New Jersey Division of Taxation.

Both programs begin at 11 a.m. and run approximately an hour. The programs are free and light refreshments will be served.
