FREEHOLD, NJ -- Monmouth County’s volunteer firefighters are ready for anything and they’ll prove it at the 37th Annual Monmouth County Fair. At 7pm on Wednesday, July 27, the Busted Hose & Ladder Competition will give fairgoers a chance to see teams of local firefighters in action. The Busted Hose event features six firefighters in full gear racing to replace a section of hose and shoot at a target. Fire companies throughout Monmouth County will compete.

The Busted Hose & Ladder Competition is just one of the many beloved traditions at the Monmouth County Fair. Other highlights for Wednesday night include one price rides ($18 wristbands) all evening, fireworks, Bwana Jim’s Reptile Show and Robinson’s Racing Pigs.

Also, be sure to visit the animals, enjoy some Fair food and see the hip hop dance group Illstyle & Peace take the main stage at 8:30pm and 9:20pm. So come ready to have fun, create memories and let the good times roll at the 2011 Monmouth County Fair.

The Fair runs Wednesday-Sunday, July 27-31. The Fair gate is open 5 to 11pm on Wednesday, July 27, Thursday, July 28, and Friday, July 29; 11am to 11pm on Saturday, July 30; and 11am to 6pm on Sunday, July 31 at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township.
