The national theme is “The Legacy of John Adams, from
Monmouth Vicinage Assignment Judge Lawrence M. Lawson said, “This year’s law day theme will help reinforce the fundamental principle of the rule of law. It also provides the opportunity to honor our legal institutions and recognize their impact on our democratic society.”
Assignment Judge Lawson will offer opening remarks. Monmouth Bar Association President Craig Laughlin also will speak. Court employee Tarika Jean-Pierre will perform vocal selections.
During the ceremony, the Daniel J. O’Hern Mock Trial Award will be presented to the Marine Academy of Science and Technology for winning the 2011 Monmouth County High School Mock Trial Competition.
Mr. Laughlin will present the Monmouth Bar Association Abraham J. Zager Professionalism Award to attorney Fredric M. Milstein. A dedication in honor of the late Samuel Carotenuto, a noted area attorney, will be presented by bar member Ronald T. Catelli.
Assignment Judge Lawson will present plaques to the winners of the Law Day 2011 essay and art contest sponsored by the Monmouth Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns. The winners are as follows:
