Focus on Efforts to Keep Teachers in the Classroom, Make College More Affordable and Create Good-Paying Jobs

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – US Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) will keynote the New Jersey Education Association 2011 Legislative Conference SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5 at 11 AM (remarks at 11:30). Senator Menendez has helped lead efforts in the Senate to keep teachers in the classroom, make college more affordable for middle class families, and create good-paying jobs. Specifically, Senator Menendez has helped deliver $268 million to keep 3,900 teachers in our classrooms and provide $36 billion over 10 years to increase education grants to middle class families.
