Philip Scaduto, Vice President of Food Circus Super Markets

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The New Jersey Food Council has received national recognition and represents over 250,000 people employed in the food industry.

Phil Scaduto served as a member on the board for the New Jersey Food Council since 2004 and tackled many legislative issues affecting NJ food retailers. In 2010 alone many issues were addressed  including gift card legislation, organized retail theft, and the plastic bag recycling effort just to name a few.  The Food Council has seen numerous legislative victories, while at the same time establishing and maintaining a strong financial position as an industry trade association.

Looking ahead, 2011 will be an exciting year with an aggressive agenda tackling the battles that lie ahead, including the evaluation of new healthcare reform regulations, the ongoing escheat gift card litigation and the improvement of New Jersey’s business climate.  “While the bar has been set high, I am confident we will continue to improve upon the Food Council’s reputation as one of the most prestigious industry associations in the country and continue our advocacy for the food industry as one of the largest employment sectors in the state of New Jersey.” Scaduto stated.
