LINCROFT, NJ —  The Monmouth County Park System is looking for volunteers to become Docents/Receptionists in three locations. Are you 21 years of age or older and enjoy interacting with people? You may have what it takes to step into our newest volunteer opportunity.  Duties include greeting visitors and providing information about facilities, exhibits, park history, upcoming events and on-site ecology. Other responsibilities may include light upkeep of facilities and exhibits.  Volunteers are asked to provide a minimum six hour commitment per month.  Docents may be asked to attend an additional training session presented by Park System naturalists.

Once trained, volunteers will be placed at the Huber Woods Environmental Center in Middletown, Bayshore Waterfront Park Activity Center in Port Monmouth and the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell on weekends in three hour shifts. Shifts are from 10am-1pm and 1-4pm.  Interested? Sign up for our training session on Saturday, February 12 from 10am to 12noon at the Thompson Park Visitor Center, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft.
