Little Silver, NJ  Red Bank Regional (RBR) senior Tim Vilardi of Little Silver, recently signed to play lacrosse for Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania with a partial scholarship. Tim, a defenseman served as RBR’s lacrosse co-captain last season and has played the sport from middle school on a traveling team and throughout high school at RBR.  His school record for the past year included one goal, one assist, two points, 145 ground balls and 45 takeaways.

RBR lacrosse head coach Don Femminella comments, "Timmy has a great work ethic and has improved dramatically in the past four years.” He adds, “We should have a great season this year with an exceptional class coming through with about four or five other players destined to play on the collegiate level and Timmy has been a big part of that. I am so excited that our students are getting the opportunity to play in college and earn scholarships.”

Tim is a three-season athlete playing on RBR’s fall football and winter ice hockey teams. He hopes to reprise his role as co-captain of the lacrosse team this spring and was just named Co-Captain for the RBR Ice Hockey team. A student in RBR’s Academy of International and Cultural Studies, Tim hopes to complete his International Baccalaureate diploma this year.  He also serves as an RBR Student-to-Student leader when not in the classroom or on the ball field.  Tim has worked at the Lacrosse Unlimited, the Little Silver Recreation program and at the Red Bank Armory ice rink at various times while in high school.  Tim hopes to study business at Chestnut Hill with a concentration in either economics or marketing. He claims the strong business program at Chestnut Hill was a major reason why he chose to attend that college in addition to its Lacrosse program.

He added, “Chestnut Hill was just perfect to me. I think the school is beautiful and really like its location in Philadelphia and proximity to home. The coaches really impressed me as well as the team. They are a real tight knit community. I couldn’t be happier with my decision.”
