On Monday, May 21, 2012 at approximately 4:10pm, Holmdel Police patrol officers responded to a report of a subject being robbed at knifepoint on Durant Avenue, Holmdel.  A female taxi cab driver for Patsy’s Cab Service, Matawan, reported she was dropping off an unknown male subject who pulled out a knife and took money and the keys to the vehicle, from the victim. The actor was a described as a white male, in his late twenties to early thirties, approximately 5’-7” tall, medium build, with a brown moustache and beard.  He was wearing an olive green sweatshirt and a black baseball cap.

After the robbery the subject fled on foot, possibly to a nearby waiting vehicle, which was described as a charcoal colored Chevy Equinox, with unknown registration and direction of travel.  The initial responding and investigating officer was Patrolman Andrew Kret, who was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Thomas F Durdack, Sgt. Edward Martinez, Cpl. Gerard Burke and Dsg. Jeffrey Ackerson and Det. Eric Hernando.

James Bixler arrested for Armed Robbery

On Saturday, July 28, 2012, the Rahway Police Department arrested James J. Bixler on an outstanding Holmdel warrant for the armed robbery of a Patsy’s Cab Service driver on May 21, 2012.  Bixler was transported to the Holmdel Township Police Department by D/Sgt. Jeffrey Ackerson and Ptl. Matthew Menosky, where he was processed.  Bixler was charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Theft.  Bail was set at $122,500.00, and Bixler was lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institute.  Bixler was also charged with the armed robbery of a cab driver in Edison, NJ.  The investigation was conducted by D/Sgt. Jeffrey Ackerson and Det. Eric Hernando of the Holmdel Township Police Department.  They were assisted by Detectives from the Edison Police Department.
