MANASQUAN, NJ -Over 2000 runners ran through the streets of Manasquan in the Annual Manasquan Turkey Trot 5 Miler, held the morning of November 19th. The weather cooperated with cool, clear conditions - ideal for racing through the streets. The overall winner was Ken Shatzer of Hoboken in a time of 27:15. He was followed by Jersey Shore Running Club's Jeremy Pilkington (picture attached), Allenhurst, who finished second in 28:03. For the women it was JSRC's Ali Belicose of Red Bank (picture attached) in a time of 30:58 followed by Dianne DeOliveira-Gaine of Brick in a time of 31:40.
In the One Mile Prelim it was Patrick Gallagher of Manasquan in a time of 5:26 and for the women it was Nicole Donahue of Wall in 6:08.
In the 23 years the event has been held, the Manasquan Turkey Trot has raised $484,000 for the community, according to Race Director Pat Hoey. The mile run had 283 participants ranging in age from less than 5 years old to adult, and the five-mile run had more than 2,000 participants, added Hoey.
