JERSEY SHORE RUNNING CLUB
& RUMSON HASH HOUSE HARRIERS
TO HOST 26th ANNUAL HASHATHON
Rugged Trail Race

November 13, 2005
Fun Run begins at 10:30 AM
Event begins at 11:00 AM

Cheesequake State Park
300 Gordon Road, Matawan, NJ

MATAWAN, NJ - The 26th Annual running of the Hashathon, a rugged trail race through Cheesequake State Park, will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Race director Mark Griggs of Brielle expects about 350 entrants in this year's event, which is a joint effort between the Rumson Hash House Harriers and the Jersey Shore Running Club.

The course is very hilly and challenges the runners to cover a "hash" style trail over exposed tree roots, mud, sand, wooden bridges, and fallen leaves. The course is marked by orange flags over six miles of a large loop through Cheesequake State Park, 300 Gordon Road, Matawan, NJ, where the event has been held since 1979.

Awards are given out over a large group of categories, based on age groups, gender, costume, and even a “smoker” division. Entrants and their friends are invited to a party after the race, where a live rock band will play. Food & beverages will be served at the post race party. The day starts at 10:30 AM with a 1-mile fun run, followed by the main event at 11 AM.

Registration on race day begins at 9:30 AM. Proceeds will be donated to the Kevin Stover Fund.
