CHICKEN SOUP AUTHOR LISA NICHOLS TO SERVE CULTURAL MESSAGE AT QUINN CHAPEL ANNUAL LUNCHEON

MIDDLETOWN, NJ Quinn Chapel Church of Atlantic Highlands will present dynamic motivational speaker Lisa Nichols on January 22, 2005 at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa, One Ocean Boulevard in Long Branch, New Jersey at the Church’s 26 th Annual Luncheon. Doors open at 11 a.m. Nichols, who is a well-known author, teen advocate, personal and life coach, will deliver an inspirational talk as a prelude to Black History Month.

Lisa Nichols gives powerful and thought provoking talks and seminars to standing room only audiences of women empowerment groups, entrepreneurs, investors, parents, educators, juvenile justice employees and adult youth advocates. Her no-holds-barred messages are felt with powerful energy, personal testimonies and eye opening interactive processes. She is known not to leave a dry eye in the house.

Lisa Nichols has joined best selling authors Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield along with national radio personality Tom Joyner in bringing the long awaited Chicken Soup for the African American SoulCelebrating and Sharing Our Culture One Story at a Time to the public. This compilation of nearly 100 stories is a tribute to a culture that prides itself on its sense of survival, resiliency, healing, prayer, and perseverance. These stories offer an opportunity for both African Americans and those of other cultures to understand the culture of African Americans.

Coauthor Lisa Nichols explains, “Our vision is that every African American family will be sitting around the table on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year’s Eve sharing our stories and being inspired to tell their own—we all have a story! And during Black History month, people of all cultures will be reading Chicken Soup for the African American Soul as a means of feeling our history from the inside out, not just looking in from the outside.”

The collection of stories express why African Americans dance, sing, cry, shout, laugh so joyfully and continue to keep striving and fighting for what they believe. This book is not only a tribute to what has been in our history, but also to what still can be in our future. It is filled with stories of transitioning from the test to the testimony, and from the battles to the victories.

Lisa Nichols has been a personal coach to CEO’s, entrepreneurs, investors, principals, professionals, pastors, and parents. Her track record with getting people clear on their vision, their roadblocks, their power and their possibilities is absolutely exemplary. There is always a waiting list of professionals to receive her personal coaching skills. Ms. Nichols lives in San Diego, CA.

The Quinn Chapel Church Annual Luncheon, largely attended by public officials, business people and residents throughout the county and state, boasts such speakers as the former New Jersey Secretary of State Dr. DeForest (CQ) B. Soaries, (CQ) Jr., the late U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, Vashti MacKenzie (CQ), the first female Bishop of the 214 years old AME church, Bernice King, daughter of the late Dr. Martin Luther King and other notables. As in the past, this year’s luncheon will benefit the church’s missionary works, food pantry, senior citizens, and its primary focus, college scholarships for the many youth that are members of the church.

Quinn Chapel Church, pastored by Rev. James H. Foster, celebrated its 150th Church Anniversary in November 2002. This celebration was a grand occasion for the church and the community. A commemorative marker was placed on the church lawn in recognition of being one of the oldest African American churches in Middletown Township and the Atlantic Highlands area.

For tickets and more information, contact Randall Nelson at (732) 576-8295 or call Quinn Chapel Church at (732) 291-1078.
