BENNETT RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT FOR REELECTION FROM THE WOMEN'S POLITICAL CAUCUS OF NEW JERSEY

Business Directory

SHREWSBURY, NJ —  Senate Majority Leader John O. Bennett has received an endorsement for reelection from the multi-partisan Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey because of his commitment to helping women in the state. Senator Bennett (R-12) has a history of working toward the goal of promoting projects or legislation which helps women.

"Women in politics is a very important topic," said Bennett. "The number of women who have been elected to public office has increased over the years. We have many terrific women leaders in office. Senators Martha Bark and Diane Allen are examples of New Jersey women who are working toward women's political progress.

Senator Bennett has also been a strong proponent of legislation that supports women's issues. He is a cosponsor of SJR6, which is measure that urges the United States to ratify the United Nations Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. Bennett also cosponsored Senate Bill 1029 which calls for a supplemental appropriation of $750,000 to the Department of Health and Senior Services to promote women's awareness about heart disease and stroke,"

"I greatly appreciate the endorsement from the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey," said Bennett. "I plan to continue my efforts of supporting women's issues legislation as well as supporting strong women political leaders."
