Nine years ago on the 11th of September, the unthinkable happened. In commemoration, this year as we have since 2001, AARP volunteers and employees will put aside other concerns and join together for a full day devoted entirely to the service of others. On September 14th, the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance -- designated an annual initiative by President Barack Obama last year -- our staff and volunteers are working in local food banks and with community organizations throughout New Jersey.

Do you have a community project that sparks your interest? Are you looking for a way to give back?  Why not join us and let this year’s National Day of Service provide us all with the motivation to find new ways to give back not just on this one day, but on as many days and in as many ways as we can. There are many opportunities to help others and we encourage you to go to www.createthegood.org to find the one that best suits you.

Together, in ways large and small, we can all make a difference.
