To all it may concern in our community,
Greetings everyone. I hope this festive holiday and New Year season sees everyone happy, healthy, and safe. It is with bittersweet sentiment that I am reaching out to the community to let all know that as of mid-January 2018, my service as Children’s Librarian at the Atlantic Highlands Branch will end, and I will be moving into a new position as head children’s librarian at the Ocean Township branch of the Monmouth County Library System. I use the term “bittersweet” because while a new adventure rests on the horizon, there is nothing that could ever replace the joy I have experienced serving the communities of Atlantic Highlands, Highlands, and surrounding areas.
The past six years I have spent getting to know our community have been some of the best in my life. I reach out to everyone to express extreme gratitude and warmth for allowing me to feel so welcome and immersed in what is most certainly one of the most charming and special towns in the world. Thank you for allowing me to get to know, educate, and serve your children and families. Thank you for singing, reading, and laughing with me every week. And most importantly, thank you for teaching me what it means to be truly part of something special. I have staunch faith that Atlantic Highlands will continue to grow each day for the better as I have seen it do thanks to the amazing teachers, parents, leaders, and business owners that make up our exceptional community.
So much thanks goes out to my colleagues (Jane, Phyllis, Barbara, Faye, and Patrick), to the Friends of the Library group, to Mayor Le Grice and the rest of the esteemed borough staff, and to all of the wonderful and special parents, children, and patrons I have been so lucky to meet along the way (you know who you are!!). I will miss everyone dearly—heart and soul.
Love and gratitude,
Children’s Librarian – Monmouth County Library
