RE: $38 Million Contract for Monmouth County Beach Project

We are concerned that these projects do not include dunes or other natural systems and will not work. We believed that these projects will fail and the sand will get washed back to sea in the next storm. Dunes help protect beaches and prevent erosion as well as work as a barrier against storm surges.

The Governor has called for dunes and NJ has even gone to court over (whether) to mandate dunes, yet they are not required here.  Dunes are not required north of the Manasquan Inlet which we believe threatens people and property.

We believe NJ DEP should require additional beach access in these communities since they limit and block public access. They want our money but not the people that pay for fixing their beaches.
