Thank you to all the Rain Garden enthusiasts that attended the March 26th meeting at Brookdale Community College.  The event was part of a continuing Environmental Lecture Series and just one way that Brookdale Community College is promoting the college’s mission to apprise students and the community about current environmental issues.

The next Environmental Lecture at Brookdale Community College on Monday, April 23rd will host Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6th Dist.) who will describe the fight to prevent the dismantling of 30 years of environmental regulations that protect our health and safety. He will explain how polluters mask their tactics by claiming “job killing” environmental regulations caused the recent recession and current unemployment, blaming the rise in gasoline prices on environmental regulations and adding anti-environmental amendments onto “must pass” bills that traditionally receive bipartisan support.

The general meeting of NJ Friends of Clearwater and Monmouth Group of the Sierra Club is hosted by the Brookdale Community College Environmental Science Field Station on Sandy Hook. The two clubs meet at the Lincroft campus to share speakers and engage environmentally concerned college students and the general public.

We look forward to seeing more of our interested community at the April 23 presentation in the Warner Student Life Center on the Lincroft main campus. It will also start with a buffet available for college students and adults at 6:00 p.m. Contributions from non-students are encouraged to defray the cost of food. The general meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Please feel free to e-mail me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) if you have any questions regarding the upcoming program, summer educational programs at the Sandy Hook Environmental Field Station or about “The Hook.”

Sincerely,
